Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year I rode the Carten100 for the first time. It took the best part of 12 hours all in. The wind howled in our faces like you wouldn't believe, I crashed and smashed up my knee after 20 odd miles, one of my companions got blown off his bike after 60 miles and didn't quite make the end. It was one hell of a day. The suffering, the sense of achievement, the whole nine yards.
Well I'm back for more. Praying for a tail wind.
I am so pleased that this year's chosen charity is Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff. It is a place I know well having been a patient there for the last 7 and half years. I have been poked, prodded, spiked, scanned, injected, x-rayed, scared, relieved and sick there. It is a wonderful place doing its best to support the too many people in South Wales living with cancer.
Testicular cancer at 24 I can confirm, is a son of a bitch. Who the hell knows what I would've done without the place.
Anyway enough of the emotional manipulation. If you would like to donate to Velindre, they will use the money to make a significant impact to so many people, so this is your excuse to do so. You will also help motivate me to continue climbing on my bike and grinding out the training miles. Last year with about 10 miles to go I thought about the generosity of people who had reached into their pockets on my behalf and it helped get me home.
I am so grateful for your support.
