Story
I'm doing the Shine walk again this year in memory of Ross and all those who've suffered and gone too soon because of cancer. Just before Ross was diagnosed, I applied for a job back at at Cancer Research UK as a member of their scientific staff, and I'm now working in a lab that investigates how B cells make antibodies. Many of the latest cancer treatments are antibody-based, so the more we understand them the better. I've know first hand how important the money raised from these events is for our funding. I've also been able to see just how much new research is coming through, especially on discovering new molecules and pathways in cell processes, and how genetic and environmental factors affect them.
