We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

I think everyone knows by now that I don't have much time to train for any challenges, so with the help of many Taylan's Project supporters, I instead convince people to walk across hot coals and do other crazy stuff with me to bring awareness to brain tumours. The support means so much so thank you dear friends!

As I haven't done anything for a while, I thought it was that time again to do something and have signed up to put my trust into a bit of rope and abseil down Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth on Saturday 25th April 2015.

This challenge personally made sense to me (before I signed up that is!) as it was one of Taylan's favourite places to visit.  Portsmouth is also where the first Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence is based at The University of Portsmouth which is where we also fund vital research.

I remember when we used to visit the Tower and Taylan would just jump up and down on top of the glass floor, situated 170 metres up in the air and I would just stand on the edge putting my hand out to him, asking him to stop doing that and to get back to me. He would just laugh at me and his bright blue eyes would light up, asking me to join in with the fun (which I NEVER did!)

I have also never visited the Tower since we lost Taylan in 2009 because of the wonderful memories I have of him, so abseiling down one of his favourite places is not only going to be mentally challenging but also emotionally.  I just hope he helps me through it and holds me tight that day.

This is my time, to let him know that Mummy can be brave and go that extra mile. I will definitely be facing my fear of heights and also taking another step towards trying to deal with losing him but I really need your help on this one.

Please donate a few pounds if you can as I know it really will help me to get through it but also know that every penny raised is another step towards finding better treatments and a cure into the biggest cancer killer of children and those under the age of 40.  No family should have to go through what we did and what we are still going through.

Thank you, thank you, thank you xxx
