Story
Over the last few weeks whilst raising money for Williams Fund I have come to appreciate the value of family and friends, thank you for your support and love.
As I write we are coming to the end of "Carers Week". A week dedicated to the unsung and unpaid heroes of our communities who look after their loved ones through very difficult times. Though we all mourn the loss of lives, particularly young ones, we often forget the very difficult times, sometimes years that their parents and carers go through leading up to their passing.
With children of my own I cannot comprehend what it is like to lose a child. Johanna has first hand experience of this and through our friendship I have become to gain a little understanding and appreciation of what she has gone through.
I first volunteered to do this abseil as a bit of fun to help a good friend. I am doing it for Williams Fund as I know that all of the funds go directly to the research to help prevent the tragic loss of young children's lives to cancer.
All your money goes directly to the Childhood Cancer Research Fund which is under the umbrella of the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Charitable Funds...
The William Dodd Foundation research post is run by Dr Helen Townley & Dr Karl Morten following the retirement of Dr Mitchell. They are conducting ground breaking research into Childhood Cancers. For more information on William's Fund and the research please see our website and our facebook page. Thank you for your support. Please leave a message of encouragement for anyone you know on the team!
