Story

It's 1888, Whitechapel in Londonfear rules as the vicious Jack the Ripper stalks the streets…

There's a mysterious House on the Hill; you go to explore it (obviously you've never watched a horror movie) only to meet ghostly gardeners, scabby dogs and be betrayed by one of your so-called friends…

Brain-hungry zombies wail outside your crumbling compound. Supplies are scarce and you've a bunch of hapless survivors to feed. Someone needs to do a supply run…

Your kittens are in the blender. You MUST get them to safety before some evil sod switches it on…

Yes folks, it's time for our annual ThanksGaming event where I'll be playing board games for a solid 24 hours!

Just in case I've never harassed you for money for ThanksGaming before, here's a brief overview of what we'll be doing:

From 6pm on May 29th, 25 of us will spend 24 hours playing a variety of games.

The kind of games I'll be playing include Letters from Whitechapel which involves trying to catch Jack the Ripper before he kills again; Betrayal at the House on the Hill, which involves magic rooms, mystic elevators, monsters and, of course, mayhem. We'll also be playing the disturbingly funny Kittens in a Blender (no actual kittens will be harmed, I PROMISE) and for a change of pace we'll have a go at the rather gentle Tsuro in which we play dragons following a meandering path across an ever evolving board.

I'll be doing all of this in a Victorian costume à la 1888, covered in fake blood, without any sleep. Or possibly as Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica...

As someone who needs her 8 hours a night, this is going to involve a lot of tea.

This year we'll be supporting Yorkhill Children's Charity once again and together we hope to beat last year's amazing total of £3300. My personal goal will be £150.

So please, please, please check behind the sofa cushions, raid the piggy bank or do without just one beer/glass of wine/coffee/Irn Bru this month and sponsor me. Every little really does help, this is a great cause, close to many a Glaswegian heart, and will make my sleep deprivation and caffeine poisoning worthwhile!
