I was lucky to get through twenty odd years’ service to the colours without a lasting injury, others were not. I know how difficult it was for me when I left the Army all those years ago. As a business we have supported Help for Heroes and every year my wife Joan undertakes a challenge to boost our donation. This year I have no excuse, this year we will be doing it together and taking part in the Hero Ride 2015. 

I am the world most reluctant cyclist. I have never been happy on a bike let alone on the public roads, I failed my cycling proficiency test as a kid many times. With Joan's help I will be undertaking a real challenge, I will have to overcome my fear of bikes and traffic. Not much you may say, but to me it’s real and I can think of no better event to put it to the test. We will be riding around 100 miles, subject to navigation errors it could be more, joining the official Hero Ride North on the final day culminating in a grand finale at Windsor on the 21st June.
