Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running Tough Mudder 2015 in Dumfries Scotland to help raise money & awareness for Crohn's disease. This is not the nicest of diseases to live with & I've been enjoying its company since I was 11 years old. As much as I've tried to not let it have an impact on me it has drastically altered how I have lived my life. My dream as a child was to always join the Armed Forces. This dream was shattered on discovering that Crohn's disease prohibits joining any of the armed services including the TA.

So my life has since followed a very different path & all in all I think I've managed quite well with the minimum amount of fuss. So after a recent scrape or two in hospital back in 2012 where I might have got a bit closer to shuffling off from this mortal coil than I'd originally made out , I've decided it's time to raise some £ to help out my fellow sufferers.

So some of the friends who've always had my back through thick & thin have decided to help me raise money & awareness by joining me on this run & will be suffering over the next 6 months training like myself . They have my heartfelt thanks for doing this & it shows how close we all are after having been friends for nearly 25 years in some cases. As an addition to this Stephen Russell & myself have given up drinking any alcohol from Jan 1st until June 20th when we complete Tough Mudder. Not sure what will be tougher , the run or being dry for 6 months but life is meant to be challenging & this certainly will be.

For every month I stay dry I'll be posting an update & a link to the Just Giving page & people can donate as they wish . I will be donating £20 myself & Ste will be doing the same.

Thank you for your support & any donations you make along the way.
