The challenge we have set ourselves is considerable - 140km in about 24 hours rowing in 2 hour shifts, as usual with all these types of Challenges they start with a lot of bravado and after a while once the training begins you start to realise how much effort and commitment it really requires. Having spent some time talking with Nicki and the guys from the Mission to Seafarers and getting a better understanding of what they do for a very under recognised group of people who provide an essential service to how we all live our lives. It is not a particularly high visibility or trendy charity and so needs all the support we can give it and while I am not directly involved in the Marine Industry many of my family are and they have seen the good work and benefits provided by the Mission. So I will push on with the training and hope that some of you will help out with the fund raising.
