We clear landmines and destroy weapons to save and improve lives worldwide.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In February, I will be joining a 25-strong team of local retailing industry colleagues to cycle 400km across Vietnam and Cambodia to raise much needed funds for MAG, the Mines Advisory Group.

What MAG does that is so special is help prevent deaths and rebuild lives by finding and destroying unexploded landmines and ordnance. Every day 9 people die this way or have their lives devastated through horrific injury.  Not only that, vast areas of many countries across the world are rendered impossible to work because of such unexploded ordnance. Two such countries are Vietnam and Cambodia. Innocent civilians suffered horrendously during the infamous conflicts in these countries - but it's simply unacceptable that they still continue to suffer to this day.

MAG is doing an amazing job fixing these problems, helping those who have suffered and clearing land to allow it to be re-used in 16 countries across the globe. So a gang of us are doing our bit to help MAG alleviate this situation - and I'd really, really appreciate it if you could help by donating.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

Every single day, 15 people are killed or injured because of landmines and other explosive weapons. Half of all civilian casualties are children. MAG finds and destroys these weapons to save lives and rebuild futures; helping people to grow crops, attend school and build homes.
