Hi! :D
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page! My name is Katie and I'm a 22 year old Masters student at Lancaster University :)
Trekking Machu Picchu is one of my dreams and when I heard that Lancaster University would be visiting next summer, I thought I must get involved! Not only do I get to visit one of the seven wonders of the new world, but most importantly, I get to raise money for an amazing charity which helps save the lives of severely malnourished children.
Along with the team of fundraisers from Lancaster, I will also be joining students from other universities; Southampton, Hull, Manchester and Glasgow on our expedition to Peru in September 2015.
My personal target is to raise £3,000 for Action Against Hunger! Additionally, the Lancaster team aims to raise £60,000 collectively. We hope to achieve this by hosting various types of events across campus and in town in order to reach our target. Myself and the team will be hosting sporting events to club events. You can help us achieve this by donating to my page, no matter how little you give, every penny counts and any amount is greatly appreciated :)!
55% of the money raised during our fundraising events through the academic year will be donated to the charity to help eradicate hunger in countries such as Peru. The rest of the money will help to fund the team's trip to Machu Picchu to help us celebrate our hard work.
