On the 22nd-29th of August 2015, two other students and I have grouped together to climb Mt. Edith Cavell. We are doing this in order to raise funds and awareness for the Cavell Nurses' Trust, which was formed shortly after the Daily Mirror and Daily Telegraph publicized, in 1917, the efforts of Edith Cavell to raise funds for nurses who were physically and mentally shattered by the war.

Edith Cavell was one of the many nurses that served in World War One. Cavell is known for her remarkable efforts in securing some 200 soldiers safety and allowing them to cross the borders into France. Unfortunately Cavell was charged with treason when her actions were discovered by the German army in August 1915 and then executed later that year on the 12th October. Cavell was selfless in her actions and is among the many heroes who put their lives on the line for others.

The Cavell Nurses' Trust is dedicated to the protection and aid of in-work and retired nurses, midwifes and healthcare assistants, as well as students in medical training. The Trust has been giving financial assistance to over 650,000 registered medical staff.

The Mount Cavell Challenge is a fundraising opportunity for 100 people to climb Mt Edith Cavell in order to spread their generosity among the medical staff who have fallen on hard times. this means that if you are kind enough to sponsor us on our journey you will be contributing to the aid of those in the medical profession who need your help. 

As for the three of us we are currently doing our A- levels at Hartpury College. We were interested in joining the Mount Cavell Challenge because we believe that it will be great experience and we feel strongly about the cause. We will be fundraising as much as possible through out the next year in between our studies and other commitments to ensure we reach our goal. We ask you to be generous and aid us in reaching our target by donating to our web page.
