The CHALLENGE: Complete the Beaujolais International Marathon on 22 November 2014. If you have read my story on the  opening page (www.justgiving.com/antrobus12in12) you will know why I need to start the challenge year with a marathon. Only this time I will make it to the start line...

UPDATE: Challenge 1 was completed in 3 hours 44 minutes. Special thanks to the support team of Petra and Pavla who got me to the start line and the donors who inspired me to keep going to the end! There are a few pictures in the archive below.  

This was the November  Challenge, the FIRST event in the Antrobus '12 in 12' Challenge against Cancer. Twelve extreme personal challenges, one per month over a 12 month period, to raise $250,000 for Cancer Research and the Francis Crick Institute. Those who know me will understand why I  have decided to start my cancer challenge year with a wine-related event... but this is far from a stroll through the vineyards. 42km of hills and tracks to navigate at speed, and no chance even to sample to Beaujolais Nouveau en route. I have not set a target time for this race, the longest I have run for over four years,  but if anyone wants to challenge me with a target...feel free when you send your donation message!
