My first go at road biking for 30 years was in May when I did Stage 2 of the Tour de France in two days on a borrowed bike which certainly took its toll.

So armed with my new bike, the new challenge is125 miles and over 9000 feet of climbing (which is like going up Ben Nevis twice) - in a day!
