Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Some brave souls at Scott Brownrigg have decided to walk 25 miles of the The South Downs to raise money for our corporate charity Article 25 and Cancer Research which will take place on Saturday 6 September.

With the target to raise a minimum of £4,000 and personal target of £100 we have a way to go. But with your help and support we can really make this an event to remember.

The walk

The trail runs all the way from Winchester through the stunning South Downs National Park and ends in Eastbourne just on the edge of the Seven Sisters Country Park. People have been using this trail for around 8000 years. From start to finish, the trail covers a distance of just over 100 miles and takes you over the Downs and through some of the most stunning countryside and towns in the south of England.

The record time for completing the distance is set by the British Ghurkha Regiment completing the 100 mile stretch in an incredible 9 hours and 50 minutes! Which means the 25 miles we are walking should be completed in 2.5 hours! Needless to say we won't be doing that.

Final thought

I am currently nursing three injuries, two of which could seriously affect my chances of completing the challenge, a foot and hip injury (muscle and ligament problems). Hopefully I manage to complete it and however challenging, this should be a memorable event and most importantly, great fun.

Thanks for reading and your sponsorship.
