Story
At the end of August this year I’ll be joining the Inspired Living team of 51 riders to ride from the UK to Monte Carlo, a journey of 800 miles taking 9 days, including challenging climbs through the Alps. The aim is for this trip to raise £50,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Having taken part in the 2010 (Winchester to Gibraltar) and 2012 (UK to Venice) Inspired Living fundraising rides it’s time to renew my acquaintance with the long road ahead and raise some more funds for Cancer Research UK. The ride leaves on 28th August and will arrive in Monte Carlo on 7th September, having crossed France from north to south including some of the Alps in the final three days. Having put the detailed route together I then noted that one of our days will follow stage 14 of this year’s Tour De France, a significant mountain stage, so we’re certainly making this a challenge for ourselves. Whilst labouring up those mountain passes, it will help to know that it’s all in a good cause and one thought which has kept me going on such occasions in the past is that, no matter how much has to be endured, it will be over much sooner than it is for those who are unfortunate enough to suffer having cancer. Please dig deep, donate what you can, and help in the fight against cancer.
