Story
Sadly we are all likely to be touched by cancer directly or indirectly at some time in our lives. The good news is that both treatments and survival rates are improving.
This is a tough ride I've been talked into - almost 800 miles over 9 days including a 2000m climb over the Alps . It's going to be at - or possibly beyond - the limits of this 63 year old. Still the worst that can happen is that I have to find a nice hotel for a few days then get the train to the end!
The ride has been organised by a local fundraising committee in Hampshire called Inspired living UK. http://www.inspiredliving.org.uk/ .
It was set up in 2009 by Tim Frank a local GP , who sadly lost his wife to breast cancer in 2009. Inspired living aims to do two things:
1. Inspire ordinary men & women to adopt healthier lifestyles in order to reduce their risk of contracting cancer.
2. To raise £1 million for Cancer Research UK.
Any donation big or small will be much appreciated. As a team we are hoping to raise over £50,000 in support of Cancer Research UK.
