I will be climbing Ben Nevis on 23 August with a group of Animals Asia supporters from the UK and abroad (as far away as the US) to raise funds for this charity we all feel so passionately about.  I have no way of training properly in London for an 8 hour hike up the tallest mountain in Scotland (and down again) so it will be a real challenge!

Animals Asia works to end the unbelievably cruel practice of bear bile farming in China and Vietnam and they have made huge progress.  They have taken over a bear farm in Nanning, Southern China, which is going to be converted into a sanctuary for the 130 resident bears.  Their biggest rescue ever and the first time a bear bile farm will be turned into a sanctuary. It's a huge undertaking and one that will take about 2 years and cost about £3,000,000.  

Apart from ending bear bile farming Animals Asia also works to end the dog and cat meat trade and to improve animal welfare in general in China and Vietnam, also with special focus on animals in zoos and safari parks. 

By working with local organisations and Governments Animals Asia is making a real difference.  I will do all I can to help - until the cruelty ends.
