The Turner's and Hart's are taking part in the London to Paris bike ride in early September and we are looking to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.
This year's Pedal to Paris will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War, by paying special tribute at the Arc de Triomphe, which was part of the victory celebrations in France in 1919 after the hostilities ended.
A century on from the First World War, those in the Armed Forces community can still call on the Royal British Legion for help with every aspect of daily life. The problems facing veterans then continue to affect serving personnel, veterans and their families today, whether living with bereavement or disability, finding employment or coping with financial stress.
Mark, Carol, Paul and Mae-Lynne will take part in this famous ride covering 460 km from London to Paris. This event is the only charity ride to be escorted into the French capital by police outriders. The ride culminates in a moving memorial service at the Arc de Triomphe which is shut especially for this bike ride. The Arc is only closed two further times a year, once for the Tour de France and the other is on Bastille Day in France.
The Legion spends £1.6 million every week in support the Armed Forces community, that's £83 million every year. Now, more than ever, the Legion needs your support.
