Story
As many of you know, Euan is an extremely keen cyclist/triathlete and I have recently taken up road cycling. Although I am still very much a novice, I am taking on what will be a huge challenge this Summer by joining the 'Optoms Cycling for Sight 2014' team on their Tour of Yorkshire. Our aim is to cycle the first stage of the Tour de France 2014 from Leeds to Harrogate in order to raise money and awareness for Optometry Giving Sight. This route is 190km and includes some steep climbs, so will be extremely challenging for everyone taking part. There are 3 distance options - 190km, 100km and 50km. Euan is (obviously) cycling the full 190km and I am currently signed up for the 100km.
This Charity aims to eliminate avoidable blindness amongst the 670 million people worldwide who are blind or vision impaired simply due to not having access to eye examinations and glasses. The money raised will help fund sustainable projects which give sight and hope to those in need.
