Story

Starting on the 1st of June and ending on the 7th of June I will be cycling 600 miles to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and Humanity First.

This epic journey will take me and my fellow riders in the ACC (Ahmadi Cycling Club) from Glasgow to London visiting 13 mosques along the way. We will be riding under the banner "Ride for Peace" and will be raising money for two amazing charities.

The ride is being organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (MKA UK) who are taking no administrative fee - all money will go directly to the two charities.

Half of all money raised will go to the British Heart Foundation (http://www.bhf.org.uk/default.aspx?page=16) in memory of two dedicated police officers who served in the area of the Baitul Futuh mosque in Morden, London. These officers sadly recently died of heart attacks and it was decided to support this amazing charity in their memory.

Half of the money raised will go to Humanity First (http://uk.humanityfirst.org/content/ride-4-peace-supports-humanity-first) a charity that I volunteer for. They money will go to support their fantastic work in supporting education in Sierra Leone.

A decade ago Sierra Leone suffered a devastating civil war leaving communities broken and thousands of women and children left to fend for themselves. Peace was a distant dream for this part of West Africa.

Since then, Humanity First has been empowering local communities with resources and skills to be able to fend for themselves. HF is providing agricultural support and water to enable them to be self sufficient, and providing the youngsters with education and vocational training to provide hope for the new generation.

I have been training hard for this gruelling seven day event and need your support to make it a success.

So please dig deep and donate to support these amazing charities.

Thank you!
