Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  My name is Rio and I'm going to cycle 100 miles as quick as I can on the 10th August.  My motivation is two fold; to combat a midlife crisis and to raise money for a deserving cause.

There are so many worthy charities doing fantastic work, and to choose one at the exclusion of others seems unfair.  Some people have personal battles they’ve overcome or seen others close to them beat and I’ve chosen to ride for prostate cancer for that very reason.  The fathers (yes uncles Hassan and Vahick, I'm doing this because of you two) of my closest family friends were diagnosed, treated and defeated prostrate cancer and the early detection and subsequent action taken resulted in their still being with us today.

In the UK a man dies each hour from prostate cancer, and another is diagnosed every fifteen minutes. Most prostate cancers are treatable if diagnosed early! The Prostate Project funds research into early detection and pioneering life saving treatment of prostate cancer. Their work will give men a better chance of survival! I hope you agree that  men deserve this chance!
