Story
I hope you don't mind my approaching you all, but for the second time in my life I have been encouraged to put my best foot forward for a very good cause. Each year my son's school takes part in the Great Curry Run and as a parent I am again joining this fundraiser. This event is a major fundraiser for The Soldiers Charity, which supports serving and retired soldiers and their families.
We aim to run, walk or stagger (in my advanced body age!) over 25.8km - which is an odd distance, but it represents 10 metres for each of the service men and women killed or wounded in Afghanistan since 2001 and put like that, I had to take part. As many of you know this is a charity close to my heart, being the son of a career soldier and a mother who gave a great deal of her time to the Royal British Legion. It’s now my turn again!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
