Story

A group of us are still planning on completing the Henley 10km in mid October and Dan is running the Royal Parks Half the same day.  But Sunday 28th sees me complete the last of the challenges before we spend a night sleeping on the streets for Byte Night next Friday.  I will be taking part in the Survival of the Fittest in Cardiff, another 10km Obstacle race.  So the last big push on fund raising.

I completed the Nuts Challenge on 30th August. A 7km lap of a course with something over 60 obstacles and plenty of mud.

10th August Dan completed the Concorde Triathlon, setting a PB in the swim and coping with wet and muddy conditions on the run and bike.  Those same conditions lead to me bailing on the event and having to do the walk of shame in to the office the following Monday.

Weekend of 28th June was a busy one for a couple of us. Dan completed the Torbay half, Harriet and I took part in the Full Moon night swim on Friday and  I then completed the toughest 10km I have ever attempted in the Hills on the Welsh Borders in Herefordshire in Mud Runner Oblivion.

Windsor Triathlon involved a tougher swim than I was expecting, but otherwise a really enjoyable event where I clocked a time of 1 hour 50 minutes for the Sprint and Fiona did a great job completing the Olympic Distance which included a sub 55 minute 10k split. Great work Fiona!

1st June saw me do the Windsor Swim followed by a 45km bike ride (just for fun).  An adjusted course due to concerns over currents in the river so ended up completing 900m in 16' 46".  Beaten soundly by a lot of "youth" swimmers, but did finish 1st Male over 40 :)

The first event was the Wiggle Triathlon Relays at Eton Dorney.  Fiona Biggins, David Elmes and I completed the Triple Relay in a cumulative time of 3 hours 48 minutes 42 seconds.

Our efforts to raise as much money as possible for "Action for Children" continue, with the Windsor Swim and 3 Counties Cycle Ride both coming up on Sunday 1st June. An early start for Sean with the swim in the Thames through Windsor before jumping on his bike for the 80km cycle around Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

The fundraising will culminate in Invenias taking part in the annual Byte Night event in Reading. Each year thousands of individuals and teams from the technology and business sectors give up their beds for one night to help change young people's lives.

Action for Children work to prevent youth homelessness through early intervention by ensuring that young people across the UK are given the support that they need before it's too late. With your support Action for Children can help thousands more young people to build better lives by providing essential support, accommodation and training. Please help us to help them achieve this.

In addition to Byte Night, we will be participating in a series of swim, bike, run, multi-sport and obstacle race events between now and October including these events:

- Triathlon relay (Dorney, Berkshire)
- Windsor Swim (900m) - 10th June
- Windsor Triathlon - 14th June
- MySportingTimes Night Swim (1500m) - 27th June
- Mud Runner Oblivion - 28th June
- Nuts Challenge, Rat Race London Excel and Cardiff Men's Health Survival of the Fittest Obstacle Races (5-10km each) - Between June & August
- Concorde Triathlon - 10th August
- Henley 10k / Half Marathon - 12th October
- Reading Byte Night - 3rd October

Anything you can spare would be appreciated and go towards supporting a very worthy cause.
