Story

What do bamboo crunching pandas, Super Mario, zombies and Batman all have in common?

They're all in games that a merry bunch of geeks will be playing for charity, for 24 hours in May.

In fancy dress no less!

Yes folks, it's the inaugural edition of ThanksGaming! A 24 hour gaming marathon, hosted by Calm Down Tom, in aid of Yorkhill Children's hospital in Glasgow.

From 6pm on Friday May the 2nd I'll be dressed as the panda from the adorable game Takenoko (Google it, it's cute) and will spend the next 24 hours accusing people of being Cylons, defending Arkham against evil-mind-bending-beasties, battling to be King of Tokyo (and hopefully winning a Space Penguin, yes a SPACE PENGUIN!), and other equally relaxing endeavours.

Just picture it:

25 dressed up geeks,

24 hours,

23 cups of coffee,

22 board games,

21 minor arguments

And a panda eating all the bamboo!

Okay, you can be forgiven at this point for thinking that I'm already suffering from the inevitable sleep deprivation… but that's all part of the ermmm… fun. Apparently.

Anyway, the point of all this rambling is….

I need you to make the sleep deprivation and caffeine poisoning worthwhile by sponsoring me. Go on, you know you want to!

About the charity

We help the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. We fund medical equipment, research, play programmes and family support services to ensure that our young patients receive the best possible care and experience.
