I was lucky enough to work with Mel last year before she tragically lost her fight with Cancer. She had an incredible attitude to her illness and was inspiring to be around. I haven't done much sponsorship before and it's to have the chance to represent a small charity in an event where the money will make a real difference.

It's the hardest cycle I'll have ever done with a 1 day ride of 100 miles and the same vertical ascent as climbing Mont Ventoux.

I will be cycling with group of colleagues to raise money for the Get Ahead Charitable Trust in memory of a colleague, Mel Jaggard. Last year Mel lost her battle with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) a rare and (currently) incurable form of cancer. As a group we are hoping to raise a material amount of money to help fund a project at the new Molecular Research Centre at The Royal Marsden to understand the genetic pathways of ACC to enable them to find targets and blockers for it. The project will require funding for the next four years so your money really will make a huge difference
