I have a couple of reasons to take this challenge

Firstly a good friend of mine Kenny George suffered a stroke last year...thankfully he has pulled through thanks to a combination of his own determination and the great work of southampton hospital stroke unit.

also Richard Percival (Percy to his mates) was a friend of mine who sadly died of a stroke earlier this year whilst training to do the Lands End John O'Groats bike ride. It's one of the toughest cycling challenges in the UK with over 1000 miles of riding over 12 days.

Percy's Pals is a charity affiliated to Southampton Hospital that was set up by Percy's friends to fund a portable scanner for the stroke unit in which Percy was treated. It's a vital piece of equipment that is much needed and will greatly reduce scan times and hence improve treatment for future stroke victims.

To help us raise this money we are going to do the ride that Percy was planning. I have bought some very padded shorts and am starting to put in some hard training so hopefully I will not only be able to finish but also be able to walk in the following weeks! All I'm asking from you is to dig deep and help keep me motivated! Every little helps and is hugely appreciated.
