Story

Here’s a little more about Robyn and why I am running…….

On 29th September 2013 eleven year old Robyn Higgins died from neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer. She had been bravely battling the disease for four and a half years having been diagnosed at the age of seven.

During Robyn’s short life she endured many invasive treatments. Sadly despite this, Robyn relapsed.

Due to the limited options for relapsed neuroblastoma in the UK, Robyn and her family spent some of the most precious years of her life abroad away from family and friends, moving from study to study trying low toxicity therapies.

I am helping to raise money for NCCA UK (Neuroblastoma Children’s Cancer Alliance UK) to support research which not only aims to introduce new treatments but also bring existing international options here to the UK. The NCCA UK helps families affected by the childhood cancer neuroblastoma through supporting access to treatment, funding research, parent education and raising awareness.

Please dig deep and help us to raise funds to bring treatments home, so that other children will not have to go through what Robyn went through.

Many thanks……
