Story

Hello,

My school does a Curry run every year to raise money for The Soldiers' Charity Some of you may know that I ran the 4km last for Private Gavin Elliot, this year I'm back with my sister. So on the 26th April 2014 more than 400 people will be running one of these three distances;

4km for all the soldiers that are killed in action. ( This is the distance we are running),

10km for all killed in action and those who were seriously injured,

and 24km for all the soldiers killed in action, seriously injured and wounded in action.

Here is the soldiers' charity's website:

http://www.soldierscharity.org/

Everyone participating in this run gets assigned a soldier to run in memory of. As you already know, my soldier is Private Gavin Elliot. He died en route to the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound on foot patrol on Thursday 3 September 2009.

If you wish to find out a bit more about him here are some websites:

My sister, Phoebe, will be running with me for L/Cpl Stephen Daniel Monkhouse. He was shot dead in Afghanistan trying to rescue a wounded colleague along with another solidier, Cpl Matthew James Stenton, who was helping him.
