Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Yes I'm a doctor in Portsmouth raising money for a scanner in Southampton! But there is a reason. My own sister died at the age of 40 and was treated for a time at Southampton General Hospital. With Richard's untimely death from a head injury, I wanted to be part of such a positive response to remembering him. You can read about Percy's story if you visit
http://percyspals.com/?page_id=31. He was a highly respected local GP in Twyford and was intending to cycle LEJOG (land's End - john O Groats) in july this year, but didn't get the chance, so we are doing it for him. My Mother in Law has also received treatment at The Wessex Neurological Centre for a brain tumour. When my sister was dying the one thing that helped was getting out on my bike. When all the local guys persuaded me to do this challenge, to help raise this money, it wasn't a difficult thing to agree too. It seems a long way now, but Percy's Pals are a fab bunch and I'll be carrying a butterfly in memory of my sis too.
I have covered all the costs of the trip so anything you donate will go direct to the charity
