We support families in rural Africa to learn more, grow more and sell more.

Story

I’ve decided to walk 30 miles of the Thames Path from Runnymede to Henley-on-Thames.  This might not sound like much of a challenge but we have to complete the challenge in 12 hours – so that’s a steady 3 miles an hour to allow time for toilet breaks and food stops!

I’m doing it as part of a team from Maidenhead Bridge Rotary Club, we’re calling ourselves “The Full Farmyard” as we’re hoping to raise £2000 for the charity Send a Cow and be able to buy a whole farmyard that includes livestock, tools, training and practical support.  The charity understands that poverty is more than just the struggle of toiling on land that fails to produce. Many hold out little hope for change. We provide livestock and training in organic farming and help communities work together. It’s a package that works, and one that families pass on. They provide practical farming and support to end poverty for African families.

Ripple Effect is creating a wave of change in rural Africa. Our farmers learn, grow and sell more, releasing the potential in their land and lives. Then they pass the knowledge on, creating a wave of change across rural Africa.
