We design, fund and build in communities to provide education where needed most

Story

Hello to all who have taken the time to visit this page. I thank you!

We are trying to raise vital funds for under-privileged children in India. The money that is raised will go towards educational buildings that will be the foundations for these children to have the best possible future.

A project that is very close to my heart is the "Jaisalmer School For Girls" in Rajastan. Jaisalmer is known as the "Golden city" which is located in the region of Rajastan. Its a land steeped in honour, tradition and history. But it is also an area with a deeply sickening ritual.

It has been recorded that Rajastan has the highest rates of female infanticide in India. Nearly 2,500 girls are silently killed in Rajastan everyday.

The reason for this is that uneducated girls command a high dowry price in gold.

Education in this area is sorely lacking. The objective of the school is to provide the girls with an education so they can get jobs and contribute to the family income, thereby reducing the dowry.

This is only one region in India. And its certainly not the only place that this occurs. But with the money that is donated we can start to make a difference.

This is not the only project that Marudyan has planned. But it is one I feel strongly about.

I'm no good at trying to get a point across. Never have and never will be. But I really hope you can see why we are doing this. I hope you can find it in your heart to donate or at least pass on this page. People need to be aware that this stuff exists. I think everyone will agree with me when I say it has to stop.

You may be wondering why the cycle ride is called the "JMS studio to studio cycle". Last year James Middleton-Stewart passed away very suddenly from a rare form of cancer. Though I did not know him personally, I do know he mean't a great deal to both my father and everyone at ADP. I was greatly saddened to hear of his passing. Its a horrible thing when someone so young is taken. So this ride is in the memory of James who was instrumental in setting up links between Marudyan and ADP. We will be cycling between all of ADP's studios in England. Approximately 800km in 7 days.

Again, thank you so much for visiting this page. I hope you understood exactly why we are doing this. And I thank those from the bottom of my heart who donate to this great cause.
