We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Hi,

First of all THANK YOU for taking the time to visit my fund raising page.

Dementia can affect anyone at any time. It is very sad to watch as the disease robs people we love of their identity and eventually their life.  Any small donation towards my walk for the support of the Alzheimers Society can go a long way towards making a difference, helping those and their families inflicted with this intrusive disease, and allowing the Society to continue with their research towards finding a cure.

I am joining a few colleagues that, like me, have close relatives that suffer from the condition and so we all know firsthand just how cruel this disease is. Together we are MAD – that’s Mayflex Against Dementia !  We are taking part in the Hadrian’s Wall Trek on Saturday 2 August – this entails a 23 mile trek across beautiful, but very hilly, countryside - they estimate it will take us 12 hours! ( If only I could ride that on the Harley instead !)

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and showing your support by making a donation to this worthwhile cause.

I really appreciate it.

Gary
