If my son Tom who is 13 had Duchenne's muscular distrophy, he would be in a wheelchair by now. 

If Ben, who is 15 had the disease, he would be almost paralysed by now. 

They would not live beyond the age of 20. 

Scientists have found a way to keep the disease at bay, but the research needs to move from the laboratory into the clinic.
