Molly has a condition called Rett Syndrome. This syndrome is horrendous as over the last 15 years it has robbed Molly of her speech, the ability to walk unaided, the ability to feed herself. Molly has regressed she used to be able to do all these things until she was three. Since then her development has started going backwards.

She is also now is on medication to prevent epilepsy, brought on by this condition. Her spine is starting to curve where she cannot walk unaided, she also has breathing difficulties. These symptoms are "normal" for a girl suffering from Rett

Now here is the science bit, Rett Syndrome has been reversed in the lab on mice suffering from Rett and the same symptoms Molly has.

In fact from funding raised by the charity Reverse Rett Clinical trials are on the horizion and its only a matter of time and money before a breakthrough is made and Molly has a chance at a decent life.

The day is coming closer when newly diagnosed families are giving the news "Your child has Rett Syndrome, heres what we can do about that" please help us get there soon
