We fund research and raise awareness to create a world free from meningitis

Story

In the early hours of the 10 February 2013, the world that I and my wife, Rachel, knew fell apart. Our beautiful little boy, Tyler, had contracted the devastating illness, meningococcal septicaemia.

We had to watch helplessly as doctors drilled holes into Tyler’s legs to administer fluids into his system to stop his body from shutting down. They then had to induce him into a coma in which he was unconscious for 7 days.

Tyler has gone through so much including but not limited to, MRI scans, CT scans, radiation, countless cannulas and 2 arterial lines inserted into his body to adminster drugs….the list continues.

Tyler has suffered a little brain damage and also has joint pain and can be violent at times but we are so very lucky to have him with us as this disease can cause people to lose limbs and can kill with very little warning that it has even struck.

Please please can you help me and my sister raise as many funds as possible as every £1 counts.

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
