Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This July I am taking part in the Barclays Five Peaks Challenge, to raise money for the charity Tomorrow’s People.
This is a full on challenge to reach the summit of the five highest peaks in the British Isles—Snowdon (Wales), Scafell Pike (England), Ben Nevis (Scotland), Slieve Donard (Northern Ireland) and Carrauntoohil (Republic of Ireland)—all within 48 hours!
My training regime has changed since fatherhood but, despite my advancing age and general lack of exercise, it is all for a good cause (and I have a lot of doughnuts to burn off).
Unemployment is one of the biggest problems facing society today, and with over one million under-25s in the UK out of work, the growth of a 'lost generation' of unemployed threatens to have catastrophic consequences for all our futures. I'm working with Tomorrow's People, who are dedicated to getting the most disadvantaged unemployed people in the hardest to reach parts of our communities into jobs, breaking the cycle of generational worklessness. Tomorrow's People rely on the public’s generosity to do their great work.
Tomorrow's People celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2014. This short film [link] highlights some of those who have been supported by the charity in recent years.
