Story
I'm doing a skydive next year to raise money for Motor Neuron Disease Association, a cause close to mine and my family's hearts. Any donation would be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For some crazy reason I've decided I want to join a group of equally crazy people and jump out of a plane from 10,000ft. As fun as this is going to be, the bottom line is, I'm doing this to raise awareness and raise money for research into Motor Neuron Disease (MND).
My uncle Al was diagnosed with MND around a year ago, and the last year has brought difficult changes for us to witness and for his family around him to deal with. MND is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurons, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles which leads to weakness and wasting. 50% of those suffering from MND die within just 14 months of diagnosis.
5 people in the UK die from MND every day and there is no known cause or cure. We need to raise every penny we can to help research further to find a cure and to help people who are living with such a cruel illness.
My family have already done a lot of fundraising for ALSA (The American branch) and have seen amazing support from everyone around them, I can only hope this support continues.
