Story
I will getting back on my bike again in May 2014 to raise money for my same favourite three women's cancer charities! I will be joining a band of 2500 women cycling a circular route from Windsor around London, totalling 100km (about 65 miles). It's not as far [or as hilly!] as my other challenges but these charities still need our support, and every little bit really does help.
I had ovarian cancer in 2008; I understand very well how important it is for women to be aware of the symptoms [which are ridiculously easy to ignore] and how much it costs to fight this disease. The surgery and chemo alone cost a fortune - but the research costs even more. Without all these things, I would probably be dead.
So you can understand why I am up for raising money to help pay for it all can't you? There are so many women like me; given the shocking diagnosis of cancer - and I'd like to think that by raising awareness and funds for research, that maybe, I might save just one life...please help me do that?
By cycling 400km across Cuba in 2013, and the same across Kenya in 2011, I have raised over £11000. I'd like to make it £12000, so please, donate if you can?
This challenge is another opportunity for women to raise awareness and significant funds to help the fight against, ovarian, cervical and breast cancers. Funds raised by Women V Cancer are divided equally between these three charities:
Ovarian Cancer Action
Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust
Breast Cancer Care
and used to support their valuable work.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and read all this - help me if you can? ONE pound makes a difference...
Thanks!
Sandhy
