Story

This September I'm joining my father in-law and brother in-law, Richard and Ed, in undertaking a 1,200km cycle ride across France from the English Channel to the Mediterranean Sea.

Richard is the only experienced cyclist in the group, having already completed a gruelling 8km bike route close to home on more than one occasion.

Suffice to say it's going to be a huge challenge for us all.

The reason for taking up this challenge is to raise money for St George Foundation, a charity that was founded in 2004 to support the high numbers of children made homeless as a result of the civil war in Sierra Leone and of which Richard is a Trustee.

Today the Foundation continues to rescue, care for and educate street children. The aim is to return the children to their relatives, while continuing to support their education until they reach school/university leaving age.

For many of them university places, professional careers, stability and academic achievement have become reality.

Your donations are going to a very special cause, and I very much appreciate your generosity.
