We are on call 24/7, 365 days a year to provide mountain search and rescue.

Story

We are completing the Three Peaks Challenge on 22nd June 2013. This challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. Ben Nevis in Scotland (1344m), Scafell Pike in England (978m) and Snowdon in Wales (1085m).

From undertaking many practice walks since October I have realised that it isn't just the difficulty of climbing up and down each mountain it is also the elements you face along the way. Through our practices we have dealt with all types of weather; snow, hail, strong winds, torrential rain, and blaring sunshine. In fact all of these conditions played a part when we completed the Yorkshire Peaks earlier in May. Another element of the challenge which will be testing is that at least one of the mountains we climb in the 24 hours will be in darkness!

We wouldn’t be able to do this challenge without Glen Hunt and Alan Hunt who have kindly offered to be our drivers for the challenge, a big thank you to them! Here’s hoping that the traffic will be kind to us on the day!

We have registered our challenge online, please click on the link below to see our official challenge page:

We did not set out to do this challenge for charity but we are regularly up mountains and although we've never needed Mountain rescue and hope we never will, they are a worthy cause to do this fundraising for. Even though you can dial 999 and ask for Mountain rescue they are not a paid emergency service, it is run by volunteers.
