Story

Last year I managed to complete 1 triathlon, 1 duathlon, 1 cycling marathon, 1 IronMan, and a 4 day cycle challenge in Italy. Together we raised over £7,000!

This year I am subjecting myself to yet more pain with 7 events.  The events include:

AK Lovello 100km cycling sportif (24th May): this is 100 km cycle in the Chilterns

Colon cycle challenge (27-30th May): I am cycling with a group of people who are raising money for St Mark's hospital and cycling around England in the shape of a colon! This is about 80 miles a day for 4 days, all in a good cause.

Blenheim triathlon (14th June): I have done this event for the past 11 years and love it! It is a sprint distance triathlon: 750 m swim, 20 km cycle and 5km run

Castle Howard triathlon (26th July): I have not done this event before but it looks like a beautiful location and will be doing the Olympic distance: 1500 m swim, 40 km cycle and 10 km run

Paris to London cycle (10-12th Sept): the group 40tude are also fundraising for St Mark's and this is their 5th year of fundraising.  They have been successfully raised over £500,000 since 2011 for a new surgical technique to treat patients with colon cancer.  The cyclists on this event are all committed to fundraising and very talented in their careers and abilities.  It is an honour to ride with them.

Barcelona IronMan (4th Oct): this will be my 2nd Ironman. Last year I did it in Zürich and managed it in 14 hours 30 minutes. The some strange reason I want to do it again and Barcelona is a fantastic city. Obviously, this is the greatest challenge for me. I would like to do it in under 14 hours but the reality of just finishing will be enough. The distances are ridiculous: 3.8 km swim, 180 km cycle and a full marathon

Nepean triathlon, Sydney (25th Oct): I have been invited to talk in Sydney and it just worked out this triathlon was the weekend beforehand. I am not sure if I will have any legs left after the Barcelona Ironman, but somehow I will do this. It is an Olympic distance triathlon: 1500 m swim, 40 km cycle and 10 km run.

Ok, so that is enough ...
