My grandad, George Bird, flew in Lancaster bombers for the RAF during and after WWII. These dashing hero types enjoyed their pipes and sadly in the end that caught up with him.

Thanks to the support of Macmillan, George was able to spend his final days at home with his family around him and I'm now raising money in the Longest Day Challenge so that others can too.

Please support myself and colleagues at Eversheds in our hack around 3 golf courses, taking in 4 rounds, 72 holes, 24,000 yards, plus undoubtedly numerous ponds and untold numbers of bunkers all in one day for this fantastic cause.
