Story
David and I are doing a 10/10 Trek. On the weekend of 1st and 2nd June, we will take two days to walk 40 miles through 10 parishes between Chester and Macclesfield in Cheshire and will take photos in each which we will upload to Purple Field Production's Facebook page.
What we are asking is that you would sponsor us as a way of raising money to help PFP to take their educational films around Malawi on a mobile film tour.
Purple Field Productions is a small charity that makes informative and educational films for other charities or benevolent causes, primarily in Africa and Asia. PFP turns 10 next year and, in summer 2014, as part of the 10th year celebrations, a tour has been organised following the ferry stops along Lake Malawi.
So far, they have made three films in that country, two dealing with HIV/AIDS, People Like Us and Mawa Langa (My Tomorrow), and a collective of three short films dealing with Farming, Resource Management and Environmental Issues (Farming our Wealth, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3). A fourth film is currently in the pre-production stage due for filming in July/August this year.
PFP has a big advantage in this project - a pedal-powered projector and amplifier which will enable the films to be shown in villages where there is no electricity. No doubt this will bring audiences from far and wide and will enable the message of each film to be spread even more widely.
So please give generously - it's in a very good cause!
