Story

My story

Together with my good friends Matt and Mike we are hoping to raise some money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.  We will have a tough bike ride from Edinburgh to Manchester in 3 days - a little under 500 Km.

We all know people and families that have been affected by breast cancer. Having lost both parents to cancer, with my Mum passing away just a few weeks back I feel particularly motivated to make some small contribution to tackling this disease.  Whilst my parents both had different types of cancer, breast cancer is still the most prevalent form of this nasty disease.

Here are the stats from my friend Mike. This disease will affect 1 in 8, that's 12.5%, of all women and even hits 1 in 800 men during their lifetimes. Because its incidence starts to climb so steeply in women in their 30s & 40s it can have devastating effects, on whole, often young, families as well as on the individuals diagnosed with this disease.

It is a most worthwhile cause to raise money for so please help. Thank you and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
