Story

Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my justgiving page.

My name is Mitch and I'm part of a group of young people, from two schools raising money to help launch a new charity 'Kids In The Middle' which aims to provide a one on one, peer mentoring service for children going through family seperation.

Our start up is being backed by family lawyers, the media and the Agony Aunts who all agree this project is essential for children going through a hard time. More information about the charity and our fundrasing can be found on our website www.kidsinthemiddle.org.uk

One of the reasons why I am supporting Kids In The Middle is that my parents separated when I was 12, and I have a personal interest in helping this charity get off the ground. I am now 17 and because sport has always played a major part of my life, I wanted to do both a physical and mental challenge to raise money.

I have set myself the target of running the 3 Peaks Challenges in under 24 hours during the weekend of 6th/7th of July. This involves covering a distance of 26 miles, climbing a total of 10,000 feet, including Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike. Whilst this is normally a walking event, to make it more of a challenge I am going to run the 26 miles as quick as I can. To achieve this, I am going to have to begin Scafell at 4am!

This is going to be a very tough challenge, physically and mentally, and I have already begun training every day in preperation to get my body in a fit enough condition for the run. I am completing the run solo with a gps to help me navigate so as not to get lost (hopefully!)

I have had to buy specialist kit for the event which 'Trekkit' an outdoor clothing store in Hereford have kindly helped sponsor.

As a result, all the money you donate is going directly to Kids In The Middle.

I am taking this event and sponsorship very seriously and I hope you are able to support me for such a good cause. Any donation, however large or small will be hugely welcome!

Thanks a lot

Mitch
