I am running the Manchester 10 K to raise money for the charity which my father has founded and which I have become actively involved with for the past few years.

After my father’s visit to Pakistan in the wake up the 2005 earthquake disaster to set up emergency aid units, he came back from Pakistan with a real hunger and desire to help others who are in much dire circumstances than our family.

As a result he and others who also believed in the cause set up the charity (IFMCH ) International Foundation for Mother and Child Health. The main work of the charity is to help women and children in the developing world , with the first major objective being to set up one the first ever free hospitals in an isolated part of Pakistan , Mirpur Sakro ,

I , myself was enlightened about the harsh realties of what people in the developing world experience when in the summer of 2012 I visited Tanzania for a volunteering project . This experience was an eye-opener as living in a privileged and 1 world country we need not worry about factors and luxuries which we take as a privilege such as healthcare and sanitation, this experience thus furthered my passion to the cause

So in a big effort to raise money for the construction of this free hospital I and other members of IFMCH will also be taking part in the 10 k run in an effort to raise as much money as possible.
