Story
My Estates team are going to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support by climbing the equivalent height of Mt. Everest (8848m, 29,029ft) up a 12m staircase at work (Canterbury College). We have to ascend these stairs 737 times. 13 of us will be doing this in full mountaineering gear just to make it harder. The date 29 May, is 60 years after Hilary and Tensing in 1953, my boyhood heros.
In 2006, my Dad died of lung cancer and I want raise money for MacMillan so that can support others suffering with cancer. He was the biggest influence on my life and I miss him every day.
Members of my department who are climbing with me include Lyn Tomkins and Colin Davis. Lyn list her Dad just 3 years ago, it would be his birthday on the 29th May, so wants to this challenge in his memory. Colin's father-in-law is suffering with prostate cancer and wants to generate funds for charity.
So, Lyn, Colin, Steve Holley, Justin Hill, Steve Riby, Mark O'Brien, Mel Yates, Nick Allen, Genty Tanner, Brian Shonk, Jason Ward, Adam Cosier, Tony Henson, Michael Barham and myself are now preparing for the challenge.
Please donate what you can and we WILL complete the climb in under a day to help others with cancer.
Yours
Craig
