The second annual Wainwright Walk will take place on 12th March 2013, starting at the University of Exeter campus. 

This annual event raises vital funds to support the work of the Community Legal Helpdesk in Exeter. With reductions in legal aid availability and public funding cuts in key areas such as family and social welfare, initiatives such as this are becoming increasingly important in ensuring access to justice.  

The Wainwright Walk is named in memory of District Judge Jill Wainwright, who was a friend of the Law School and a member of the steering group which developed the Community Legal Helpdesk. Sadly District Judge Wainwright did not live to see the Helpdesk in operation, but the naming of this walk marks the important contribution she made to its development.
