Story
Anyone who knows me also knows that I have been buzzing for weeks. 100 miles is happening in less than 30 hours..... I would massively appreciate sponsorship......but appreciate that it is a big ask...
As many of you will know, I lost my dad last year and during his battle against cancer I said to him that I would run the London Marathon again in 2013. He was there supporting me when I completed it in 2011 and whilst he won't get to keep his side of the bargain by cheering me on again, hopefully his memory can keep me going as I tackle the 26.2 miles once more.
I really can't believe I'm putting myself through this again and the training seems to be even harder the 2nd time around, but a training plan is being strictly followed, thermals have been purchased, blisters have been encountered, new trainers are due, nights out are being curtailed and this boy is once again on a mission.
Nearly everyone has had a family member or friend who has been affected by cancer and Macmillan provide and develop vital services that support people living with cancer. I am very grateful to be running for such an amazing and well deserving charity again and I'd really appreciate it if you could sponsor me. No matter how large or small, your donation will not only help the charity in the work they do, but speaking from experience, it will also help keep me motivated both on the day itself and the months ahead.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
