“The Children’s Hospice South West is a fantastic local charity that Trigon has supported for a number of years. They do a great job in helping to look after children who are terminally ill and provide priceless support to their families.

I visited the hospice a few years ago and was lucky enough to go on one of their tours – this really made me appreciate the amazing work they do! The visit helped me to understand a little bit about the terrible issues these families face and how valuable the support the hospice provides is. The atmosphere of the hospice was welcoming and friendly and the staff work very hard to make sure every child is happy. This includes giving them one-to-one specialist care as well as having fun times through play, music, outings and crafts. Whilst staying at the hospice, Mums and Dads, who understandably struggle to cope with their child’s illness, are encouraged to relax and be a parent again. Siblings, who often feel isolated, scared and confused, have a chance to have fun and share some special times. These families are provided with ongoing support even when the child has sadly passed away. They are able to visit the hospice, meet with the staff they have got to know and mix with other families who are in a similar situation.
